Gamers were stoked when they heard that Assassin's Creed would land on the Wii U, as evidenced by Nintendo's trailer of third-party games. Of course, even though we were all happy to see a major franchise making it onto a Nintendo console, we didn't know if the game in question was Assassin's Creed: Revelations. Now that little mystery has been cleared up by Ubisoft Chairman and CEO Yves Guillemot.
In an interview with Swedish site Aftonbladet, the Ubisoft boss stated that Assassin's Creed would indeed land on Nintendo's upcoming console. That game, however, will not be Revelations. What exactly will it be? Well, let's just say that's a new mystery altogether.
"Our next edition of Assassin's will be in a Wii U version," stated Guillemot, as translated by Eurogamer. When asked if the game would be the upcoming Revelations, the Ubisoft head ambiguously clarified, "No, not Revelations. For the future." He was then asked if the game would be Assassin's Creed III or an entirely different project, and he replied, "I can't tell you that."
Some of the translation may be off, but it seems like Ubisoft really wants to keep things secret regarding Assassin's Creed on the Wii U. Makes sense considering the platform's relatively new status. We'll have to wait and see what the publisher has planned for one of its biggest franchises on the Big N's upcoming home console.
