You might think of old computers when you picture playing RollerCoaster Tycoon, but Atari says that with the next game, it's prioritizing mobile.
"It's trying to deliver as much as we can," senior director of marketing Anthony Chien told Digital Spy. "First is the mobile version, then it's the PC experience. I think a lot of people are vocal about wanting to see the PC version first before the mobile, but our strategy is mobile first."
Announced this month, RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile is coming to iOS by April, Android this summer, and PC before the end of the year. The PC version, said Chien, will be a totally different game.
The mobile version will be free-to-play, and players can spend in-game currency to get new rides and attractions faster. But you won't have to spend money if you don't want to: Atari is charging a premium price upfront, too.
"The game will come pre-loaded with over $5 of in-game currency, with the value of in-game currency you're getting more than what you paid for."
This is the first RollerCoaster Tycoon title in a decade.
