*UPDATE* Nintendo has released an official statement regarding the Wii U Pro controller, and can be read here.
I'm not one to obsess about special and limited editions of things, let alone controllers. However, Australia might have one of the coolest Wii U Pro contollers up for pre-order, that has me contemplating a purchase.
What makes me sad about the entire listing is how non-special it sounds. There is no product description, no hint at it being a limited or special edition, nothing. Just a simple listing, calling it the Wii U Controller – SNES Version.
From the picture, you can see that the controller still retains the shape of the Wii U Pro controller, but looks as if a tiny version of a SNES gamepad was embedded into it. EB Games is listing the release date a November 30th, which happens to also be the Australian release date for the Wii U.
We've reached out to Nintendo for a comment to see whether this will just be exclusive to Australia or if we'll be able to get our hands on one of these here in the US. As a side note, if they won't be for sale in the US, chances are these controllers might end up being a prize on the Club Nintendo Website.
