Azurite Blue PS3 coming to GameStop in October

I know, I know, the PlayStation 4 is nearly here — just a few more weeks until its November 15th release. So why the heck is GameStop talking about the PlayStation 3? I'll tell ya why, because a brand new Azurite Blue PS3 is coming to the store.

As detailed by Sony Computer Entertainment at the 2013 GameStop Conference, the Azurite Blue PS3 includes an Azurite Blue DualShock 3 wireless controller, a 250GB hard drive, a built in Blu-Ray player, and can hold over 1800 games, 140 movies, 99,000 songs, and 40,000 photos, or a mixture of all.

Although the system won't be available in GameStop stores until October 8, the retailer plans to take pre-orders for the new colored system as early as tomorrow. It will retail for $249.99 and will only be available for a limited time.

I know we're all looking forward to the PS4, but honestly the PS3 has an amazing catalog of games, making this a worthy purchase even if you plan on upgrading to the next-gen. Heck, Sony still has a number of games releasing for the PlayStation 3 including Gran Turismo 6, Beyond: Two Souls, and Rain. That not even including the backlog of games you'd have at your disposal.
