Back in 2012, the Mingy Jongo project surfaced with a purpose to create a spiritual successor for the Rareware series, Banjo-Kazooie. This spiritual successor had no connection with the series itself, but it had a decent amount of support – including collaboration with the Rare composer Grant Kirkhope. That project is still alive.

It's happening!
It turns out that there is an interview with the developer, Playtonic, of the spiritual successor. The staff is around six people strong at the studio, but they are looking to grow. The best part is that they have the funding to create the game, although they are still looking for publisher. The game, which has no name as of yet, will be hitting Steam Early Access as soon as possible.
