Batman v Superman’s Gal Gadot addresses Wonder Woman critics

The casting choice of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman in the upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been met with mixed reception — most of it unwaranted given we haven't actually seen much of the character aside from some photos and a brief appearance in the latest trailer. Nevertheless, comic fans always have something to complain about when their drawn characters come to life on the big screen, and Wonder Woman is no different.

Gal Gadot seems to be taking the criticism in stride. Speaking with Interview Magazine, the actress highlighted the fact that while she can't please everybody, she's relishing the opportunity to inspire people.

"No matter what you do, you can never please them all," Gadot said. "People will always have something to say because that's the way people are. And it's okay. But for me, it's my job. It's my career. It's my art."

"Whatever I do, I take it very seriously and I do my research and I give it my best. I just want to be able to shine and inspire people. And it's not just about me. It's the script and the story and the acting. I hope people are going to love it," she added.

We haven't seen much of Wonder Woman yet, and we don't really know how she'll be involved in the film's story, but Gadot expressed excitement in bringing this strong female superhero to life.

"Oh, my God, I'm so excited about this role," she said. "I feel like I've been given a huge opportunity to inspire people, not only women. And not because of me but because of who Wonder Woman is and what she stands for. There's a lot of responsibility. But I have the best team and the best people to work with. It's going to be an amazing ride, knock on wood."
