After years of delays, BattleBlock Theater is finally ready.
Castle Crashers developer the Behemoth was still extending closed beta invites only last month, and now it's set a release date for April 3 on Xbox Live Arcade. It will cost 1200 Microsoft Points, or $15.
BattleBlock was originally scheduled to debut in 2010, so the Behemoth has had a lot of time to polish and fine-tune. The game includes "technologically evil cats, friendship, betrayal, co-optional justice, and several other forms of visual and audible stimulation," according to a blog post today.
Beta testers were able to upload custom levels. In addition to the Story and Arena modes, BattleBlock will include handpicked levels created by the developers and players alike called "Furbottom's Features."
