Begin the PlayStation Now Beta sign-up process today

PlayStation Now's eagerly awaited beta isn't expected to roll out in the United States until later this month, but it appears that Sony has begun the sign-up process.

Over on the Sony site there's a portion dedicated to explaining PlayStation Now, a service that will allow gamers to play classic titles from PSOne, PS2, and PS3 on their PS4, Vita, or other connected mobile device; there's also a place for you to sign up for more "exclusive" information about the beta, likely resulting in a beta invitation hopefully sent out in the next few days (a week or two, maybe?).

The site specifically invites you to "keep up with the latest news and updates on the evolution of PlayStation Now in the future," while offering the option to "[r]egister… to be the first to receive exclusive information on PlayStation Now." There's actually no mention of the upcoming beta at all, but this could be Sony's way of at least getting the ball rolling. I'm assuming those who actually sign up will be the first to know if, or when, a more-official Beta sign-up page were to go live.

Either way, it probably doesn't hurt to sign up. All you need to do is go to the website, enter your first and last name, provide a valid e-mail address, your zip code, and your PSN ID. At the very least, you'll get an email or two highlighting any news that may come out about the service. Who knows, maybe this will even give you a leg up in the pool of testers should Sony offer a different sign-up method.
