Behold all this glorious video footage of Twelve Tales: Conker 64

The Nintendo 64 is one of my favorite video game platforms of all time, and Conker's Bad Fur Day holds a very special place in my gamer heart. I'm certain I'm not the only person who feels this way. The fact of the matter is that Rare really hit a homerun when it released its M-rated platformer toward the end of the Nintendo 64's lifecycle. Sure, that homerun may not have been enjoyed by as wide an audience as it could've, but it was a great game regardless, and it went on to become one of the greatest cult classics of all time.

Like many other gamers, I followed Twelve Tales: Conker 64 for a extensively. The game had that cutesy appeal that was so inherent in 3D platformers at the time. It looked great, and with Rare at the helm, it would've definitely been great. But the developer decided to change the tone, and thus Conker's Bad Fur Day was born.

Aside from some colorful screenshots and short gameplay clips, we've never really gotten a close glimpse into the world of the original Conker 64. If you're a fan of retro gaming and sweet finds on the internet, you'll be glad to know that nearly 30 minutes of never-before-seen footage from Conker 64 have been uncovered by fan site Rare Minion.

The game looks, well, it pretty much looks like what you would expect from Nintendo 64 3D platformer. It's bright and has cheery music. Hell, even the bosses look adorable. Ultimately, Rare made a wise decision by changing the game's premise up drastically. Still, part of me wishes I could play the original Conker 64, mainly because I know I would've likely enjoyed that adorable little platformer, too.
