Ben Affleck’s Batman movie confirmed to release in 2018

The Batman by Ben Affleck has been shrouded in mystery so far with little concrete news to go on. We now know that the film will release in 2018 as confirmed by Warner Bros executive.

Earlier today we found out that Affleck hated Daredevil "so much" and that he used that film to help shape The Batman, which he indicated would begin filming this Spring. Thanks to a new interview with Deadline, Greg Silverman revealed that the film would indeed release in 2018 in a mention of other films. Silverman is leaving the company, and spoke of some of the films he is excited for that will be releasing. Silverman noted that

“In 2018, there is a second Fantastic Beasts film, and Ready Player One feels like an ambitious movie by the world’s best filmmaker, Steven Spielberg, that will set the world on fire,” Silverman said. “There is Aquaman with James Wan, and Scooby Doo will be a huge launch and then there is Lego Ninjago. And then there is Ben Affleck’s Batman.”

All of those films are something to be excited for, but we were aware they were all set for a 2018 release. No exact date is known, but it will most likely be October 5th, 2018. That was the original date for Aquaman, which has been moved up to the previously unnamed film date of July 27th, 2018. Now that October is open and no other films set to be announced, we can be sure that it will launch on that day.

The rest of the DC film schedule is as follows

March 6th, 2018 – The Flash (if not delayed with director loss)

April 5th 2019 – Shazam

June 14th, 2019 – Unknown, originally Justice League 2 but that has been halted

November 1st 2019 – Unknown, either Justice League 2 or Man of Steel 2 possibly

April 3rd, 2020 – Cyborg

July 24th 2020 – Green Lantern
