Bethesda: ‘Wii U not on our radar’

Unfortunately for Wii U owners, Bethesda isn't considering the Wii U as a viable platform for any of its upcoming games. Unlike previous developers, which have used the system's low installed user base, Bethesda's Pete Hines cited the Wii U's hardware as the issue.

"It's largely a hardware thing," Hines told Joystiq. He explained that Bethesda looks to "make the games that we want to make, on whatever platforms will support them as developed."

As it currently stands, none of Bethesda's upcoming games — The Elder Scrolls Online, Wolfenstein: The New Order, or The Evil Within — are coming to the Wii U..

"None of the game's we've announced are being developed for the Wii U, so it's guaranteed that none of those games are coming to Wii U," the VP of PR and marketing said. Hines didn't completely rule out the Wii U for future game releases, but it doesn't sound too promising.

"Will any future ones come out? I can't say that for sure, in our near-term focus it's not on our radar."

I guess we can add Bethesda to the growing list of publishers fearful of taking a risk on the Wii U. Bethesda joins EA who will not be bringing this year's installments of FIFA or Madden to Nintendo's platform.
