BioWare Gearing Up for ‘Largest SWTOR Beta Testing Weekend’

If you have previously signed up to participate in Star Wars: The Old Republic Game Testing Program you should have received an email inviting you to join the upcoming SWTOR beta test.  The emails, which have begun trickling in today, have caused massive chaos amongst gamers wondering why they can't login and download the game yet.  That's because it hasn't officially started.

The invites that BioWare sent out are for an upcoming Beta Testing Weekend "later this month".  It looks like miscommunication has led fans eager to get their hands on Star Wars: The Old Republic to believe that the invite was valid for THIS weekend.  That's not the case, as evidenced by BioWares recent post.

"When we started our Beta Testing Weekends, we told you that each weekend would include more testers than the last. We’re excited to announce that later this month we will be conducting our largest Beta Testing Weekend yet, specifically designed to help us stress test our servers in preparation for the launch of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™."

"How can you take part in this coming Beta Test Weekend? Well, for starters we are happy to announce that anyone who has signed up for our Game Testing Program prior to today, November 11th, will get invited! Invites will be sent in the coming weeks."

In other words, fans who already received invites for this weekend may begin playing for the scheduled time.  It's currently scheduled to open up at 5pm Central Time today and last until 11:59 Central Time Sunday evening.  Everyone else (those who got the vague emails today) must wait until BioWare announces the upcoming Beta Testing Weekend.

It isn't too late for those who haven't signed up for the Game Testing Program.  BioWare is offering a series of promotions with various websites for you to get into the Beta Stress Test WEekend.  Check out the entire list of sites offering promotions here.
