For those who don’t know, Activision and BioWare are two COMPLETELY different companies with no ties with one another. So when the brand new Call of Duty: Black Ops II came out yesterday and certain PC players received rumored Mass Effect 2 data on one of the disks – there were some eyebrows raised. It seems the disk manufactures or labelers made a bit of a blunder on this one.
Activision has responded to this mistake with Steam codes so all is well on the western front. This whole thing had nothing to do with BioWare besides giving out Mass Effect 2 by accident. So… why did BioWare respond? Because they are awesome, that’s why!
For the first 50 fans who send BioWare a picture of themselves with the CoD: BO2 disk, will receive a code for a free copy of the Mass Effect Trilogy. WHAT!? Okay, okay, THAT is pretty awesome. So… for Activision’s mistake, BioWare is making an awesome power move. I have to give them credit on this one.

Well done BioWare, well done indeed. The Verse wants you to continue playing Mass Effect, that’s all.
