BlizzCon 2016: Diablo 1 remake coming to Diablo 3 next week; Necromancer DLC coming 2017

Blizzard opened up BlizzCon 2016 with a couple huge announcements, first off, Sombra has finally been revealed for Overwatch and now Diablo 3 is getting some awesome news.

Note: Diablo 4 was not revealed,  announced or even hinted at.

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Diablo franchise, Blizzard is going to release a free update called The Darkening of Tristram on the Diablo 3 PTR next week. This update will effectively bring the original Diablo to Diablo 3 a sa 16 level dungeon with all four original main bosses and will include a graphical filter that makes the game look older and more pixelated. 

In addition to the free content update, Diablo 3 players will be able to purchase and play a new class in Diablo 3, the Necromancer. 

The Necromancer will be available for purchase in 2017 as part of the Rise of the Necromancer pack. The DLC will include the Necromancer class, an in-game pet, two additional character slots, two additional stash tabs (on PC, a portrait frame, pennant, banner and banner sigil. The price for the DLC pack was not revealed, however, it was detailed that the Reaper of Souls expansion was required to access the content. 

Currently, only the male version of the class is available to view, but a female version will be added in the future. Check out the reveal trailer below!
