Earlier this week, Basement Crawl released on PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, its launch has been marred by several "unexpected issues" with the Global Multiplayer mode, including problems with connecting to games, lag and spawning issues. In an open letter to those who purchased the game, Bloober Team Vice President Pitr Bielatowicz apologized for the issues and assured players that they will be fixing them in an update "in the very near future."
"In our pre-release testing and QA process, we didn't encounter these issues. They emerged only after the game went public. Had we known about these issues, we would have delayed the release further until all known bugs were fixed," Bielatowicz explained. "With that said, as a whole, the community has been patient and understanding and we want to thank you for that.
"We have been listening carefully to the community and what you have to say about the game, and we want to assure you that we will be fixing all outstanding bugs. We have received and continue to receive great feedback from players that has helped us identify the issues and we will be fixing as fast as possible."
Once Basement Crawl is working as intended, Bloober Team will implement several additional features that have been suggested by fans. "More than a few people have suggested that the game is missing a single-player mode and a proper tutorial, and we will address both of those issues," Bielatowicz assured.
To start off, in an effort to thank players for patience, Bloober Team will be adding new game modes including Elimination (each player only has several respawns) and Rounds (last man standing wins the given round; player with the most rounds won wins the entire match). More maps and some other small features are also planned.
"We want to make sure that all of you know that we are listening to what you have to say, that we are working our hardest to give you a game that is what you, the players, want, and that we truly appreciate your patience as we work though these issues. Our goal is to produce a game that we are proud to release," Bielatowicz concluded.
Due to the issues plaguing the game, GameZone has opted to hold off on our review until the new update is released.
