Bloodborne Remote Play a ‘smooth transition’ from PS4 to Vita

Bloodborne may be the big PlayStation 4 exclusive of the month, but one of the many perks of being a PlayStation gamer is making use of Sony's Remote Play functionality. Assuming you own a PS4 and a Vita, you'll be able to play Bloodborne away from your console and on your handheld Vita. The question is, how does it feel?

Although we're still awaiting our PS4 copy of the eagerly anticipated action-RPG, SCEA social media manager Sid Shuman recently went hands-on with the game and shared his experiences, particularly with Remote Play.

"I can happily report that FromSoftware has implemented various niceties that ensure a smooth transition from DUALSHOCK 4 to PS Vita, including a few clever re-mapping solutions," Shuman said, sharing a look at some of the button mapping for Remote Play.

"After about five minutes of re-training my muscle memory, I was already dodging and counterattacking Bloodborne’s nightmarish beasts with the same finesse and ferocity as I was managing while playing natively on PS4," he concluded.

Now, there's a few things to point out with this. One, this is coming from a Sony Computer Entertainment of America employee, so take whatever he says with a grain of salt. It's very possible that the game could translate well on the Vita, but Remote Play is also very dependent on your internet connection.

I think either way, regardless of platform or button-mapping, Bloodborne is going to be hard as sh*t. Check back later for our full review.
