Borderlands 2 rewards players who played the original

If you played the original Borderlands and are thinking of deleting the save to clear space for the upcoming sequel, you may want to think twice as Gearbox just announced rewards for veteran players.

As a sort of 'thank you' to fans for their support of the original, Gearbox announced exclusive character customizations in Borderlands 2 when the game detects save data from the original Borderlands.

Various exclusive heads and skins, all inspired by characters from the original like the Crimson Lance and Eridian enemies, will be available using the saved game data.

If you haven't yet played the first one and are thinking of picking up Borderlands 2, I recommend you go out and purchase it to get that saved data. Borderlands 2 releases on September 18 for PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.

Recently, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford recently entertained the idea of a PS Vita version of the game. While claiming he "loved" the idea of a Vita version, he admitted Gearbox is too busy to develop one and that it would require an outside developer. He placed the fate of a Vita Borderlands 2 in the power of the gamers and their ability to pressure Sony.
