Bravely Default is getting microtransactions… err, Sleep Points

Upcoming Nintendo 3DS RPG Bravely Default is going to have in-game microtransactions. During today's Nintendo Direct, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime revealed Sleep Points, or SP for short.

As explained by Fils-Aime, Sleep Points are used to help you during combat, refilling health and things of that nature. A total of three Sleep Points can be stored at once. and lthough SP are generated during hours in which the game is running but in sleep mode, players will have the option to purchase these separately from the Nintendo eShop. Basically, microtransactions.

Fils-Aime was quick to point out that purchasing SP is completely optional and provides no benefit that you can't already get by simply playing the game. The eShop will just provide a quicker way.

Bravely Default is due out on February 7.
