Brooklyn will see a brand new video game and culture conference this year. Game website Kill Screen is hosting Twofivesix on May 11 at the Invisible Dog Art Center. Notable industry professionals will lead the conversation.
Tim Schafer of Double Fine, Rod Humble of Linden Lab (Second Life), and Dan Connors of Telltale Games are among the list of presenters. Topics include startups, interaction, online communities, data and digital sport, education, interfaces, and storytelling — all meant to explore the future of video games.
The program runs from 10 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available for $250 (or $100 for students using the code EDU256) on the website. If that's a little too pricey for you, the site is offering a $30 livestream pass through Twitch.tv.
A special game pack is available for purchase as well. For $25, you can grab PC/Mac downloads of Psychonauts, Waking Mars, Bit.Trip Core, Spirits, and Pid and help support the conference while you play.
Attendees will receive a custom tote and complementary lunch — capped off with drinks and games after the conference, until 8:30 p.m. Sounds like a good day to me.
