Brutal turn-based dungeon crawler, Darkest Dungeon releasing on PS4 and Vita next month

Ruin will come to your family...and pretty much everyone else who agrees to join you

Darkest Dungeon has been one of the most successful Early Access games of all time, and for good reason. The developers were transparent and consistent with their updates, plus it helped that Darkest Dungeon was a ton of fun to play. One of the things that Red Hook Studios promised was a PlayStation version that had previously been delayed.

Apparently, Red Hook is content with the port's progress enough to announce that Darkest Dungeon will be releasing on PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on September 27th, 2016. The game will retail for $24.99 and will come with cross-buy and cross-save support. Also, if you are a PlayStation Plus member, you will be able to get the game at a 20% discount.

Darkest Dungeon will have even more content on PlayStation as well, according to Community Manager, John Lindvay. He said:

"Since we last gave an update on Playstation.Blog, we’ve added even more content to the game that will be included for release. The Stagecoach is brimming with new hero classes (15 in all!) who will find themselves at the Hamlet for redemption, glory, or fortune. More than 40 different Town Events add variety to your campaign… including a chance encounter with the nefarious Vvulf and his Bandit Raiders, who seek to destroy the Hamlet!"

We loved Darkest Dungeon when we reviewed it earlier this year noting, "Darkest Dungeon is all about the little things that lurk beneath the surface. Like getting an extra turn at the beginning of battle, managing the quirks and afflictions of your characters so that they minimize their effect during the dungeon crawling."
