Buckle Up for Incredible Formula
One Racing Action

EA Sports announces titles for PC
and PS2

Attention racing fans!

EA SPORTS invites you to experience
the excitement of FORMULA ONE from the 1999 to 2002 seasons in the forthcoming
release of F1 Challenge ’99-’02 for the PCCD and F1 Career Challenge for the
PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. Both will be available starting on
June 23rd.

F1 Challenge ’99-’02 and F1 Career
Challenge are officially licensed by Formula One Administration Ltd and are the
only FORMULA ONE games to feature four complete seasons of racing action. That’s
14 teams, 44 different vehicles, 34 drivers, and 17 of the worlds most famous
racing circuits configured as they were for each FORMULA ONE season from
1999-2002.

Cutting edge technology from the
makers of the critically acclaimed F1 2002 games delivers an extremely accurate
representation of FORMULA ONE. The player will be able to feel every bump and
experience the adrenaline of life in the cockpit of an F1 car. High-resolution
car models detailed down to the last shut line, helicopters, airplanes, real sky
panoramas, animated grid girls, motion captured pit crews, and even bumps in the
track surface as they exist in reality. Advanced real-time vehicle modeling and
force feedback recreates the feel of driving an F1 car. Complex physics modeling
of brittle carbon fiber components and the open wheel characteristics of FORMULA
ONE motor racing brings unique and spectacular damage effects. The new
team-themed user interface puts the player in the game and tracks their
performance as a real life driver competing against the likes of world champions
such as Damon Hill, Jacques Villeneuve, Mika Hakkinen, and Michael Schumacher.
The roar of the unique engine sounds created from real life, live FORMULA ONE
recordings bring the richest racing soundtrack ever, while telemetry enables
players to tweak their driving style and vehicle setup just as a real life F1
driver would.

In addition, for the ultimate test
the player can enter the multiplayer mode where up to 4 players on PlayStation 2
or 8 on the PC players can compete against the fastest F1 Challenge ’99-’02
drivers in the world – wherever they are. The games are developed by Visual
Sciences Ltd. for the PS2 version and Image Space Incorporated for the PC title.
