Bungie has decided to cancel the planned Iron Banner event in Destiny once again. Of course, this is not the first time they have canceled the Iron Banner on short notice, but this time it's at least a different issue than last time.
A month ago Bungie canceled the Iron Banner and that time it was due to a unlimited heavy weapons ammo glitch which allowed player to get unlimited heavy ammo, something that made the PvP portion of the game very unbalanced. This time it's a problem with the matchmaking that is forcing Bungie to stop the Iron Banner.
According to Bungies official Twitter account, the same issue that plagued Trials of Osiris is causing problems in the Iron Banner. Apparently there is a matchmaking bug somewhere that only seems to affect Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner since the normal Crucible is working fine.
Due to the same issue that prevented players from joining matches in Trials of Osiris, we are also cancelling Iron Banner for this week.

Bungie has not said anything on if players will get compensated in some way, like a Sterling Treasure or free silver coins, but last time this happened Bungie relaunched the Iron Banner a week later when they had figured out the problems.
In other Destiny news: The next expansion, Rise of Iron, will not be coming to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 since those players are only 10% of the playerbase and the Rise of Iron expansion it self is set for release on September 20.
