Bungie has no plans to change Destiny’s Nightfall and Heroic strike rotation

Activities to rotate between launch content and The Dark Below

Developer Bungie has reiterated plans to rotate Destiny's featured activities between the original launch content and the newly released downloadable content that arrived with The Dark Below last week.

Last week, upon the release on Destiny's first expansion, players who did not buy the DLC were surprised to find that they were essentially locked out of the week's Weekly Nightfall and Weekly Heroic. Both activities, which are key to character progession because of their high-end rewards upon completion, were set to missions that are only available to those who have unlocked The Dark Below DLC buy buying it. As a result, anyone who didn't buy the DLC couldn't run the activities.

While an easy fix would to be to just add some sort of separate vanilla strike for players, Bungie has reaffirmed plans to offer a mix of old and new strikes.

"Featured activities will rotate between old and new," Bungie said in the last week's blog post. On the bright side, this week's activities will feature strikes from Destiny's launch content. But what happens the next time we have a week featuring DLC missions?
