We’ve known that Destiny’s expansion, The Taken King, will introduce two brand new game types to the Crucible, but what about Bungie’s plans for vehicles?
“There’s no strategy for vehicles right now,” said design lead Lars Bakken in the latest Game Informer interview addressing competitive multiplayer in Destiny.
“In terms of Combined Arms, which is our vehicle-specific playlist, there’s not going to be a refresh for that,” he said, dropping an ominous “yet” afterwards. “It’s entirely possible that we do something later on.”
Bakken went on to say that vehicle gameplay in the Crucible is something talked about “all the time” in Bungie’s offices. “We just don’t have anything yet to share,” he said.
The Combined Arms playlist was introduced for a brief period last September, offering the more frequent use of Pikes and Interceptors in Control and Clash. Unfortunately, this is only a limited timed event and it looks like it will remain that way for at least the time being.
