Last week marked the release of Destiny's second expansion House of Wolves. With it came the Trials of Osiris, a new weekly Crucible event that begins on Fridays and runs through the weekend until Destiny's weekly reset on Tuesday.
For those who missed it, this PvP eventĀ isĀ based on an Elimination Mode, where two pre-made teams of three players battle against each other over a series of rounds to determine the winner of the overall match. Unlike Destiny's traditional PvP though, Trials of Osiris places a much bigger emphasis on winning, with your rewards ultimately tied to how many wins you can string together before losing three matches.
As I mentioned, last Friday marked the start of the first of many Trials of Osiris events, and based on the stats Bungie revealed in this week's blog post, you all loved it.
According to Bungie, nearly four million Trials of Osiris matches were played with over 118 million kills recorded. And of all of Destiny's players that participated in the event, less than 300,000 Guardians scored a perfect scorecard of 10 wins and 0 losses. So that's something to strive for this weekend as Trials of Osiris returns today at 1:00pm ET.
In addition to the stats, Bungie put together a heat map illustrating where Trials of Osiris combatants spent most time. The red zones were "target-rich environments where most of your fights took place." The second heatmap image (with the few dots) tracks the most popular perches for snipers. Of course, this won't really help you this week as the map on which Trials of Osiris is set rotates on a weekly basis; but, it'll be useful the next time you're on the Burning Shrine map. We don't yet know what this weekend's map will be.
