Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare multiplayer playable at Gamescom

Sledgehammer Games hasn't revealed too much about the multiplayer in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, but that's all going to change in just a few weeks. That's because fans in attendance at Gamescom will be able to go hands-on with the game's full multiplayer, starting August 13th through August 17th.

Gamescom, of course, is one of the largest video events in the world, held annually in Cologne, Germany. Given that it'll be playable at the event, I'm assuming that Sledgehammer will offer an official multiplayer reveal sometime before then. Last year, Activision revealed the multiplayer for Call of Duty: Ghosts on August 14th. So we're right on time with the annual tradition.

Major League Gaming's Chris Puckett, who was first to break the news, couldn't offer too much detail about the multiplayer from a recent preview event he attended, but did say this about it:

The gameplay is much more fluid and much faster than any of the Call of Dutys I’ve played up to this point. On top of that, it’s safe to say that this new title puts more emphasis on skill than any of the Call of Dutys I’ve played before this.

Of course, it's worth pointing out that those statements had to be approved by PR, so take them with a grain of salt. Meanwhile, Sledgehammer Games' co-founder and studio head Glen Schofield teased fans with this Twitter post:
