The race to the top of the Xbox One backwards compatibility list is heating up as Read Dead Redemption still holds a slender lead at the top, however Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is making huge strides to close the gap.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was really popular when it was first released in November 2012, capturing the imagination of many fans as it took Zombies mode to another level. Black Ops 2 offered a vast range of downloadable content, allowing consumers to relive Black Ops 1 map-packs, previous Zombies content and more. This obvious attraction of DLC (and nostalgia) could well explain the recent surge of votes.
Anyway, since GameZone last reported on the Xbox One backwards compatibility forums the top 10 have only furthered and secured their places on the ever-growing list.
As featured in the top 10 below, Red Dead Redemption has held it's place in the lead with an increase to 66,841 votes, while Call of Duty has closed the gap to just 1331 votes. Aside from what some are describing as a "two horse race" at the top of the list, gamers have continually backed other cult favorites such as Skyrim, Halo and Gears of War, making it clear that these are the games that people want to play again.
