With Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's first expansion — Awakening — releasing on PlayStation 4 next week, Activision has shared details regarding the patch size and when it'll be available to download.
Activision is switching things up this time around, bundling the Awakening DLC pack into the patch. The result is a whopping 9.1GB download for both. Activision notes this can take a little over two hours with a connection download speed of 10MB and about 40 minutes on a 30MB connection.
The new expansion pack includes four additional multiplayer maps — Skyjacked, Gauntlet, Splash, and Rise — and the first chapter of the Zombies DLC, "Der Eisendrache".
Awakening, and the patch, are expected to be released "midday" Pacific time on February 2nd, 2016. As a reminder, Black Ops 3's DLC is a timed exclusive on PlayStation 4. It'll be available on PS4 30 days before releasing on Xbox One and PC. Awakening, or any of the other Black Ops 3's season pass content, will not be available on PS3 or Xbox 360.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 Awakening will be available via the Black Ops 3 Season Pass, which includes all four of the planned DLC packs at a discounted rate, for a total of $49.99. You can also purchase it individually for $15.
