During Microsoft's GamesCom 2013 press conference, an Activision spokesperson showed off a brief clip for a new game mode called "Blitz mode" for Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Blitz mode sounds like it's going to be as fast and frantic as the name suggests. In Blitz mode, players attack and defend zones on each end of the map. When a player from one team makes it to the highlighted zone on the opposing team's side, they score a point. After doing so, they are instantly teleported back to their end of the map to do it all over again. Essentially, you're blitzing the enemy team's endzone. I can picture snipers and assault rifle users playing defense, while players with sprinting perks and shotguns or SMGs siege the zone.
Blitz mode will be playable at GamesCom, you lucky bast*rds.
That's not all that Activision announced during the Microsoft press conference. Europe will be getting a premium bundle for the Xbox One that includes the console, Call of Duty: Ghosts and "bonus content," but there's no word on what that bonus content is. It was reiterated that all multiplayer maps will be coming to the Xbox 360 and Xbox One first, just like Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Lastly, Call of Duty: Ghosts will use the Xbox One's cloud service to host dedicated servers.
