Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is getting a St. Patrick’s Day themed event

Operation: Shamrock & Awe is officially on.

Activision has announced that they are bringing a special St. Patrick's Day celebration to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. The event is called Operation: Shamrock and Awe, and it starts today and runs through April 3rd. Players will be able to unlock free supply drops, gain access to a new (and free) map, as well as earn two all-new camos.

Each week of the event, players will be given one free supply drop, which they must unlock by the following Sunday, or lose it for good. It's worth noting that the supply drops do not stack up, so you have to make sure to log in and download by Sunday at 11:59 pm PDT each week to claim yours.

The popular and torrential map known as Downpour is getting a sunny facelift in the form of Daybreak. Daybreak features a sunny green countryside complete with a lucky rainbow and is only available to play during Operation: Shamrock and Awe. Also, by completing certain in-game challenges on the Daybreak map, players will be able to unlock two exclusive St. Patrick's Day camos for your weapons, the Folium and Prism.

On top of that, players will be able to unlock Darren “Graves” Cosgrave as a playable character by completing three collections of unlocks, "Luck," "Leprechaun," and "Pot o' Gold." As to be expected, the character is only unlockable during the event, but if you manage to do so, you will be able to keep him even after the event has ended.

So there you have it; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered's St. Patrick's Day event is officially on now.
