Candy Crush is becoming a live action game show because of course it is

In the realm of announcements that never needed to be made, CBS, Lionsgate and King Media have announced that the famous game Candy Crush is getting a live action TV show in the U.S.

"We are huge fans of Candy Crush and, like so many others, we know the 'rush' of advancing to the next level of the game," said CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller. "We're excited to work with Lionsgate and King to adapt one of the world's most popular and entertaining game franchises for television and make it available to its massive, passionate fan base who can watch and play along at home."

In the series, the game comes to life as teams of two people use their wits and physical agility to compete on enormous, interactive game boards featuring next generation technology to conquer Candy Crush and be crowned the champions. A host will be announced at a later date.

"The Candy Crush franchise lends itself perfectly to the kind of larger-than-life, physical game shows that I love to produce and CBS is the perfect home for it," said executive producer Matt Kunitz ("Wipeout," "Fear Factor"). "As aCandy Crush Saga player myself, I am excited to amp up the action and visuals in our huge Candy Crush Arena."

Now, how exactly in the hell this is going to work is beyond me to be honest. Each team will use two people, which is surprising considering the game is easily handled by one person while playing. Also, how will the game play? Is one person just going to yell out "Blue lifesaver!" and make the other person run over to it? Who knows? What I do know is that this is one game that really is better off staying in the virtual world and out of live action television.

Those around the world are going to be laughing at the U.S. in my opinion once this comes out. In fact, I'll be laughing with them from my home in the U.S. as it happens. I am curious, however, to hear who will be hosting the show. Who would you pick for the show and what are your thoughts on the game? Let us know below.
