As Capcom's Dragon's Dogma comes closer to the release date the hope rises in how the game will be received. In an interview with VideoGamer.com producer Hideaki Itsuno discussed his anticipation. "When I was a child I always had this dream of making a realistic fantasy open world game, and now I'm able to make that dream a reality," he said. "It's a first for Capcom, so we really hope that it's received well. We're doing our best to make it a great game." With that statement we can deduce that a lot of pressure is being put on the development team to produce an amazing game.
Looking outside of the development pressures and more towards the anticipation of how the game itself will be received, Itsuno says, "in Japan, we can absolutely sell a million units. We know that's attainable." Capcom isn't simply looking for a hit in Japan though, they are looking for the game to have the same popularity globally. Capcom recognizes that the risk is in-fact there, "but that's what we want – a challenge" said Itsuno. There is a definite hope in Dragon's Dogma to sell 10 million copies worldwide. The release date is May 25 and will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360.
