This summer, popular video game developer will release the first installment of their episodic Batman adventure game. Described as “a living, breathing comic book”, we can no see exactly what they mean thanks to the screenshots provided by IGN! The first takeaway is that there’s just as much Bruce Wayne as there is Batman, which lines up with the fact that Telltale wants the story to be shaped by the character both in and out of costume.
The cast of the game has also been revealed, with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End alums Troy Baker and Laura Bailey playing Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle respectively. The rest of the cast features Travis Willingham (Ratchet & Clank) as Harvey Dent, Erin Yvette (Oxenfree) as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel (Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots) as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer (Red Dead Redemption) as Lieutenant James Gordon, and Richard McGonagle (Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End) as Carmine Falcone. No word on if The Joker will make an appearance, and if so who would play him (please be Mark Hamill, please be Mark Hamill).
Another reason to get even more excited about this game is that it will be the first Telltale game to run on a brand new engine, described by the team as a “much-needed upgrade”. For anyone that has played a Telltale game before, they are surely well aware that this statement is true. We’ll have to see how well this engine runs when Batman: The Telltale series releases this Summer.
