Bungie has finally lifted the lid on Challenge Mode for Destiny's King's Fall raid, revealing the new feature will arrive in "early" December.
Though not completely spoiled, Destiny lead raid designer Gavin Irby did shed light on the new feature, which will see different bosses of King's Fall offer their challenge each week.
"Each boss's challenge requires that you defeat them in a very specific manner," Irby said, without revealing the exact mechanics. "We’re going to leave that up to you to discover (but apologies in advance to those that run the single-pool strat for Golgoroth)."
As explained by Irby, you'll be able to see which boss is offering their challenge for the week in the Director. I twill display next to a skull, similar to one of the Nightfall modifiers. Challenge mode will work on both normal and hard mode of the raid, and will offer rewards to match.
I know what you're think — why bother? Well, as teased by Bungie last month, the three remaining Calcified Fragments are locked behind these challenges. We don't know what happens when you collect all 50 — probably some sort of Exotic gear — but this is at least some incentive. There's also a special emblem rewarded, so that's kinda cool.
