Child of Light release date announced

Child of Light, a turn-based RPG set in the magical painted world of Lemuria, will be available for download on April 30, 2014. It's coming to Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, and PC for $14.99.

For those unfamiliar, Child of Light is a reimagining of classic fairytales that invites players on an epic adventure in which they'll uncover mysteries, participate in JRPG-inspired combat, and explore a mystical kingdom. You play as Aurora, a child stolen from her home who, in her quest to return, must bring back the sun, the moon, and the stars held captive by the Queen of the Night. Accompanying Aurora on her journey is Igniculus the firefly and several other unlikely allies.

Child of Light is created by a small team of developers at Ubisoft Montreal. The game is being built on Ubisoft's UbiArt Framework, an engine that lets programmers and artists "bring their art to life by allowing original concept art to be inserted unedited into the game world." Ubisoft describes the effect as "stepping into an interactive painting."
