Chiwetel Ejiofor in talks to voice Scar in live-action Lion King

Jon Favreau, the man that brought the live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book to life, has been at work on a live-action Lion King for about a year now. Character castings have been slowly revealed over the past year or so and it looks like there might be one more name to add to the list.

According to a report from Hollywood Reporter, Chiwetel Ejiofor is in talks to voice the villain in the live-action adaptation of the Lion King. Yep, that means Ejiofor is in the runnings to play Scar.

You might recognize Ejiofor as Mordo in Marvel's Doctor Strange or as the lead in 12 Years a Slave.

So far, we know that Donald Glover will play Simba, James Earl Jones will reprises his role as Mufasa, Seth Rogen will voice Pumbaa the Warthog and Billy Eichner will voice Timon. It's being said that Beyonce is the top choice for Nala.

The live-action adaptation of the Lion King is currently filming in Los Angeles, California.
