Before I continue with this story, Christopher Nolan won't be doing anything else Batman related. There, now that that's out of the way…
Nolan is on the record saying that Anne Hathaway is so good in The Dark Knight Rises that she should get her own spin-off movie, and she got under the skin of the character in a manner that left him genuinely impressed. Nolan told Access Hollywood:
Anne is incredibly precise and articulate about the psychology of the character. She's really built it from the ground up, it's just a delight to watch her perfrom […] The thing she does in those heels is not to be taken lightly. She's an incredible character and we're very excited to see her and hopefully we'll leave people wanting more.
So all of you people that were criticizing the choice of Hathaway as Catwoman can now shut the hell up. I've been saying it from the very beginning — Anne Hathaway is a really talented actress that will make Catwoman her own and take the character to places we've never seen it. And under the direction of Nolan, she will flourish.
Now, like I said earlier, Nolan is not interested in doing a Catwoman movie. He said, "For me, Gotham and these characters, I'm done. I've told our story and I'm moving on [but] I certainly think she deserves it — she's incredible." He's said it time and time again. He's done with anything to do with Batman. No Catwoman. No Justice League. No Robin. Nada.
Eight days til The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters. Get your popcorn ready.
