Clash of Clans update Sneak Peek #1: Lightning Spell 7

With ClashCon just a little over a month away, I figured Supercell would be saving any big announcements for Clash of Clans until then. While Supercell does have a "big update" planned for October 24th, it looks like we'll be getting a minor one before then.

Today, Supercell provided us with a sneak peek at one of the new features presumably arriving this week — the level 7 Lightning Spell at Town Hall 10. That means the level 6 Lightning Spell is now available at Town Hall 9, and both it and the level 5 Lightning Spell have had their damage increased.

In addition to the increased power, another change made to the Spell makes the bolts strike closer together in order to miss less often. As explained in a preview video (below), this also means the aim as to where you drop it will be much more important. Check out the preview of the new level 7 Lightning Spell below.

Meanwhile, over on the forums Supercell provided us with another sneak peek. The Army Overview button will now also be visible from the Clan War map. It's not a huge change, but it's welcomed nonetheless.

This new update doesn't yet have a release date, but should be available sometime this week.

The last major update for Clash of Clans, 'The Dark Spell Factory', came back in July and introduced the Dark Spell Factory, which provided players with three new Dark Spells —Poison, Earthquake, and Haste.
