When the Xbox One launches this Friday, you'll basically be able to control the entire system using your voice with the Kinect. But despite Microsoft talking the Xbox One up as a machine you can naturally talk to when trying to get it to do something, there's actually a strict list of commands you have to follow.
Unfortunately, we're not at a stage where technology can recognize everything you say. The Kinect looks for specific words or phrases and when it recognizes them, it will perform the action. Below is the complete list of Xbox One Kinect commands:

Xbox turn off | Puts Xbox One to sleep/off, can turn off television and cable/satellite set-top box |

Stop listening | Stops Kinect from listening or cancels voice commands if Kinect is triggered during casual conversation |
