Conan Exiles officially getting full mod support and player server controls

Host your own local game, or take the fight online

Conan Exile is just a few weeks away, and developer Funcom has been getting every piece of relevant information out to the public over the last few weeks. This time, the developers have revealed all of the different server options that the game will have at launch on January 31st as well as the mod support that PC players can expect to take advantage of.

Here's a breakdown of the server details per an official press release:

  • Host a local game where you can play alone or with a small group of friends connecting directly to your game session
  • Play Online on an Official Server hosted by Funcom
  • Play Online on an Unofficial Server hosted either by yourself or another player
Break out the beer; Conan Exiles might just be bringing back the old LAN party. Local game support is the highlight here as players are not restricted to heading online with strangers and/or trolls that can ruin everything for you. If a LAN party is not an option, players have the ability to use their own hardware or rent a server from Funcom's partner, PingPerfect. Servers will be organized by the nature of how difficult you want things to be, so for example Hardcore, Role-Play, Casual will be just a few of the categories you can choose from.

Conan Exiles will also feature full mod support on PC from the moment the game releases on Early Access. Prospective modders can download a custom Unreal Engine editor and then proceed to make whatever they want from new monsters and items to changing certain aspects of gameplay. There will also be a mod management tool that connects to the Steam Workshop that will allow for easy transference from the editor to Steam.

Conan Exiles releases into Early Access and Game Preview on January 31st, 2017.
