After months of rumors and speculation, Sony Computer Entertainment of America's PR team has confirmed The Last of Us will indeed be coming to the PlayStation 4 in the form of a "remastered" version. The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 was first outed via an advertisement banner on the Sony Entertainment Network store and then confirmed to Mashable.
"SCEA can confirm The Last of Us Remastered is coming to PS4, and we'll be sharing more details with you shortly," SCEA's PR team said.
Adding further weight to the confirmation, Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuehei Yoshida tweeted the quote:

A release date for the PS4 version was mentioned, but the banner did include a $59.99 pre-order price. Previous rumors speculated a release sometime this summer. It's unclear what other PS4-exclusive features The Last of Us Remastered will offer, but I'm guessing at enhanced graphics (1080p, 60FPS) and maybe all of the DLC bundled in.
