Crackdown 2 “Deluge” Add-On Announced

Microsoft has announced a new game add-on for Crackdown 2:

“Deluge” pits up to four players against increasingly more challenging waves of denizens from Pacific City. The Capture the Orb mode, which introduces a “Crackdown” twist to capture the flag, will have you hurtling buildings and dodging rockets as you race to score, as well as several updates for “Crackdown 2” affecting weapons, vehicles and more.

The “Deluge Pack” will be available in both trial and premium versions. The trial version includes the complete sixteen-player Capture the Orb mode as well as a single player, sample version of the “Deluge” cooperative mode. The premium version consists of all Deluge content including the complete Deluge co-op mode, new achievements, avatar awards, as well as the sixteen-player Capture the Orb mode for 560 Microsoft Points.

The “Crackdown 2” “Deluge Pack” also delivers a first-of-its-kind integration for Xbox LIVE members, directly tying activities and accomplishments earned in the new Windows Phone 7 game, “Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst,” with the Xbox 360 game. A new take on tower defense games, “Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst” is a “home defense” game that uses Bing Maps to allow you to choose your home territory anywhere in the real world and defend it from an onslaught of Freaks and Cell Terrorists. By building lethal Agency bases at your home, neighborhood coffee shop, favorite geographical feature, and so on, your accomplishments in “Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst” will unlock bonuses in Deluge mode that call in support, such as rocket-equipped Agency helicopters, extra Peacekeepers, and exclusive power-ups. Likewise, scores in Deluge can unlock new weapon upgrades in “Crackdown 2: Project Sunburst,” which will be available this November.

I REALLY hate how Microsoft puts quotations around all their games. Did they think we were going to confuse “Crackdown” for something else?

“Deluge” comes “out” on “November” 16. “…”
