Hidetaka Miyazaki, director of both Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls, is now president of From Software.
From Software today released a statement (translated by Gamasutra) which describes the promotion as part of a larger personnel shift. Demon’s Souls producer Masanori Takeuchi has also climbed the corporate ladder, now working in the vein of senior managing director.
The news comes on the heels of (and may have resulted from) the studio’s buyout at the hands of Japanese publisher Kadokawa. Kadokawa specializes in Japanese printed media but has broken into the games industry with works like Lollipop Chainsaw and its upcoming original title Natural Doctrine, which could suggest that multimedia Souls content is on the way. However, no such announcement has been made.
