‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ has a director

The sequel to Rise of the Planet of the Apes has a director. Matt Reeves will be helming the coveted sequel, titled Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Rupert Wyatt, who directed the first film, exited the sequel in September. Insiders say he wasn't comfortable with having the movie ready by May 23, 2014.

Enter Matt Reeves. Reeves is best known for directing the J.J. Abrams-produced Cloverfield, as well as Let Me In. He was also the co-creator of Felicity. Reeves is an interesting choice for Rise of the Planet of the Apes. There will be a lot of hype around the sequel, since it's coming off of a successful film. We'll known more about the film as we progress toward that 2014 release date.
