Day of Infamy is leaving Early Access later this month

New World Interactive has announced that their hardcore WWII multiplayer shooter, Day of Infamy has reached the final days of its time in Early Access and will release in full later this month on Thursday, March 23rd, 2017. The game has been on Steam's Early Access program since July of last year and in that time has proven to be among the platform's more highly rated games based on user feedback. To be more specific, 89% of the game's Steam user ratings were positive.

As Day of Infamy gets ready to launch in full, the developers have announced several additions that will be coming to the game. Here's a list of them courtesy an official press release.

  • Unit System: Collect digital militaria items in the form of new character art representing various regiments and divisions for each faction. Rank progression unlocks a random unit for players to use or trade. Within a unit, new character artwork includes arm patches, hats, helmet stencils, uniforms, camouflages, and voice over.
  • Commando Cooperative Difficulty: A new playlist for PvE Cooperative gameplay featuring elite AI opponents and limited fire support options.
  • 10 Maps: With the recent addition of Foy and Crete, a full range of environments to fight in are featured in the game.

Day of Infamy got its start as an Insurgency mod that gradually grew in popularity. Eventually, it was built into the standalone title you see today and comes with a focus on close quarters combat. The game is currently available right now on Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux.
