The E3 season has already given us many new games and more information on upcoming titles. Today, the Playstation-Blog gives us the release date for PS4’s highly anticipated zombie action game. Days Gone is set to come out next February 22nd. It comes accompanied by a new trailer titled This World Comes For You. Check it out!
Days Gone was first announced at E3 2016 and will come exclusively to PlayStation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro consoles. Developed by Sony’s Bend Studio, Days Gone will offer survival action gameplay set in a post-apocalyptic zombie infested open-world.
The game impressed with its gorgeous representation of forest wilderness and insane amounts of zombies visible at screen. Players will follow the tale of protagonist Deacon St. John and his life as a bounty hunter in a dangerous and destroyed world. The games main enemies are zombie-like creatures, Freakers, who are the result of a worldwide pandemic that killed the majority of humans, transformed many others into these monsters. But not only humans were mutated. In previous trailers, it was shown that animal as well were affected by the infection and thus, Freakers of wild animals like bears and wolves evolved. As if they weren’t dangerous enough already! But as it is with most post-apocalyptic fiction, other Humans still remain a big threat. Infected or not.
Bend Studio became a staple on Sony’s games consoles ever since the PlayStation 1, with the tactical stealth action series Syphon Filter. The beloved franchise sadly never made it past the PS2 and Bend Studio continued to develop spin-offs in the Uncharted and Resistance series, on Sony’s gaming handheld Vita for a while.
Days Gone marks the first time since 2007’s Spyhon Filter: Logan’s Shadow for the PS2, that the studio works on a big home console game. Their long experience in the business shows, from what we have so far seen of Days Gone. It’s shaping up to be yet another great exclusive on Sony’s very successful PlayStation 4.
