DC films casts Black Manta role for Aquaman

Welcome to Atlantis

We are one step closer to the Aquaman film coming to fruition as DC films announced they have come to terms with an actor to play the main villain Black Manta.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio held a number of tryouts but finally decided to offer the role to Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. Abdul-Mateen recently starred in The Get Down on Netflix. It's the third main role we have heard about, with Jason Momoa of course as Aquaman and Patrick Wilson to star as his evil half-brother Orm. Amber Heard is also on tap to play Mera.

Aquaman is set to release in July 2018 currently and is the next DC film to release after Wonder Woman this June. With over a year between films, hopefully, Aquaman can ring true. After all, the stunts are being performed by the Mad Max Fury Road team, and visuals of Atlantis should look amazing.
