DC's Legends of Tomorrow is set to feature an encounter with a young George Lucas when the season returns.
One of the more underrated DC superhero series' on the CW right now, 'DC's Legends of Tomorrow', has indulged in time-traveling shenanigans in some pretty creative ways. Primarily, the team often finds themselves causing "aberrations", or deviations from the normal timeline, which often result in them having to correct their mistakes and repair history.
While in most circumstances, the Legends have to save or stop certain historical figures to maintain the causal nexus, when the new season starts, the show will be tackling a particular icon most might not consider a historical figure, but a figure of history nonetheless: George Lucas. The new episode, entitled 'Raiders of the Lost Art', will dive into to the idea of influence and how inspiration can be one of the most powerful motivating forces we have. In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer, Marc Guggenheim, dished on the plot of the episode:
“Because of circumstances, the time aberration in episode 209 is George Lucas quits film school. As a result, he never makes 'Star Wars' or 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'. As a result, Ray, who became an engineer because of 'Star Wars', and Nate, who became a historian because of 'Raiders', slowly start to lose their brilliance, because those things that inspired them to become who they are didn’t exist.”
Matt Angel is set to star as the young filmmaker when the new season starts this January.
