Dead Island Riptide ‘Zombie Bait’ edition includes a limbless, bloody, busty bikini torso

Well, this may be the most disturbing special edition bonus I've ever seen included in a video game. Deep Silver today revealed the Dead Island Riptide Zombie Bait edition, a "strictly limited" edition of the zombie survival game which comes bundled with a steelbook case, artwork, weapon DLC, and a 12" resin statue depicting a limbless female torso.

The statue, which measures 31cm high and 18.5cm wide, is supposedly Dead Island's "grotesque take" on an iconic Roman marble torso sculpture. It's all kinds of weird and especially creepy. As you can see in the picture, the hand-painted statue features a rather busty torso missing several key limbs — most notably the arms and head. But don't worry, the some juicy, melons are still attached.

"Dead Island Riptide is one of the most anticipated releases of the year and is set to build on the original's reputation for OTT action, dark humor and brutal zombie bashing," said Deep Silver's Sales & Marketing Director Paul Nicholls. "We wanted to provide a unique collector's edition that was utterly 'Dead Island' and would make a striking conversation piece on any discerning zombie gamer's mantel."

Well, if that was the goal…I suppose a bloody, busty torso could spark a conversation. Then again, if you are actually relying on this statue to start a conversation then there may be some deeper issues at hand. My first question: who the heck would actually purchase this and proudly display this on their shelf?

Deep Silver said the Zombie Bait edition will be "strictly limited" to assure this item is a "genuine collector's item for hardcore horror gamers."

The special edition also includes a Steelbook edition of Dead Island Riptide, collectable artwork cards, and an exclusive pack of weapon mods — but does any of that even matter? I mean, there' s a freakin' bloody torso included! With giant knockers!

Thankfully, this collector's edition will only plague Australia, the UK and other select European countries. Dead Island Riptide is set to release on April 23, 2013 for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
