For those of you who enjoyed Dead Rising: Watchtower like I did, you'll be excited to know that the sequel, Dead Rising: Endgame, has begun production.
The Crackle based film series debuted last year with Watchtower, and saw Jesse Metcalfe as reporter Chase Carter in East Mission, Oregon between Dead Rising 2 and 3 in the game series. During the film, Carter uncovers that humans have developed immunities to the drug Zombrex, the very drug preventing them from becoming zombies. When it becomes clear that the drug is no longer effective and a zombie outbreak purges the town and infects its inhabitants, Chase, his camera woman Jordan, grieving mother Maggie and survivor Crystal battle their way out of the city before it gets firebombed.
“With last year’s success of ‘Dead Rising: Watchtower,’ there was no question that Crackle viewers had an insatiable appetite for this popular and entertaining franchise,” said Eric Berger, g.m. of Crackle and exec VP, Sony Pictures Television Digital Networks. “We can’t wait to deliver another great feature for this ‘rabid’ and loyal audience. Billy Zane is a newcomer to the series, and plays a corrupt scientist named Rand. Rather than curing the apocalypse as the government hired him to do, instead he conducts experiments on the zombies.
